Reese Badda - Tear Drops Music Video

Independent Toronto-based dancehall artiste, Reese Badda, recently released the music video for his single “Tear Drops”. The music video details the all too familiar scenario of love vs. lust and temptation faced by many young adults caught up in the nightlife. This music video release marks the first of 2010 for Reese, but not the last, as he is already in the works to prepare for his next single, which will also be directed by Magelantic Studios (responsible for Reese Badda’s “Tear Drops” and “Nah Lie” music videos). One Love For Haiti - Toronto - February 6

Rita Marley, reggae singer and wife of the late great Bob Marley, will headline a fundraising concert for the people of Haiti in Toronto this Saturday, February 6 (Bob Marley’s birthday). The concert is dubbed “One Love For Haiti”, and happens at Kool Haus in Downtown Toronto. Mikey General and Luciano are also among the featured performers. The money raised from this event, will be donated to Haiti through UNICEF and the Haitian Consulate in Toronto.

Mavado Marching Through Canada

Mavado’s historic 10 city tour of Canada, kicked off last night (January 28) to a packed house in London, Ontario. The country-wide tour is already sold out, and will culminate in front of a crowd of thousands next weekend at the Sound Academy in Toronto.

During next week, Mavado, with opening acts Future Fambo and Stacious, will make the long trek to western Canada for shows in Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver, before heading back for several shows in Ontario.

Last night’s show in London, Ontario, saw a large and very mixed crowd of mostly females, who were extremely responsive to the ‘Gully Gaad’. Alliance selector Boom Boom whipped the crowd into a frenzy, before Mavado took to the stage.

“There were a lot of different nations in there last night,” said Mavado. “Its good to see them singing along to my new material as well as the older songs, which means Dancehall is definitely spreading to a wider audience.”

With Mavado and his travelling party already experiencing snow blizzards and temperatures as low as -9, the heat he is bringing to Canada will definitely help.
